After discovering a striped thread on my fin bolt yesterday and therefore unable to get out I was saved by SimonC today who popped into a hardware store on his way to the beach and got me a little nut and bolt that allowed me to bodge things so that I was able to connect board and fin.

By the time I'd done this though I only had a short time to get to the beach and rig up for a fast and frantic half hour session on the water. I went out with my 4.5m and little wave board which thankfully was just right so I had a good half hour nicely powered playing in the whitewater. Some nice jumps and gybes but it was all over far too soon as I had to get back home, pack up and head off to do some work.

Still, at least i got out even if only for a short while and the going was good whilst I was out so I can't complain too much.

Thanks Simon, you rescued a very frustrated windsurfer! And thanks to Dunk too who has just delivered several other options for fixed board and fin together which should enable me to get out until I get myself some more spares.
